My Training for Spiritual Healing

The focus of my ministry is Spiritual Healing.  My training has been extensive.

Buddhist Empowerments 

Reiki has it's origins in Buddhism.  It is possible to practice reiki without knowing anything of these Buddhist roots.  Still, Buddhism is the foundation of reiki.

The empowerments are initiations to the various Buddhist powers.  These powers or deities are personificatons of the forces they represent.

Medicine Buddha is the personification of Spiritual Healing--distinct from say--Wisdom Buddha, who personifies Wisdom.

The Taras are female personifications of different aspects of Buddha's compassion.  Each of the Taras comes in a different color to signify her focus of concern.

The reiki attunements are clearly descended from these rituals

Shirley Hausman was the only instructor authorized by Ethel to teach MariEl.

 I found the energies of Reik and MariEl to be in conflict.  I no longer practice MariEl.

Barbara Webber Ray was the last of the 22 reiki masters trained directly by Hawayo Takata.  She went on to insist that only she had received the complete reiki system from Mrs. Takata--so only her students and teachers have the complete reiki system.  She insists that all the other reiki lineages are incomplete and defective.  There was a time when I believed this.  That time is long past.

It should be noted that Barbara Ray's reiki lineage is a seven degree reiki system.  The other 21 Masters trained by Mrs. Takata have three degrees in their reiki systems.  Since the system is secret and not open to inspection, it is not possible to know what the extra material consists of or where it came from.

Therapeutic Touch

Therapeutic Touch was founded by Dolores Krieger; Ph.D., R.N.  Her teacher, Dora Kunz, was firmly grounded in the spiritual tradition of Theosophy.  The organizations associated with Theosophy continue to teach Therapeutic Touch. 

While it is possible to be a Therapeutic Touch healer without knowing anything about Theosophy; the teachings of Theosophy are the foundation from which Thearapeutic Touch Springs. 

To distinguish Therapeutic Touch from other, similar practices, it is often known as Krieger/Kunz Therapeutic Touch and denoted as KKTT.

Pranic Healing

Pranic Healing teaches a form of "self cleansing" that the practitioner is expected to perform while healing others.  This is out of concern for "diseased bioplasmic energy."  The practitioners of Pranic Healing are afraid of the "energy" that they work with.

In my opinion, Pranic Healing is more complex than reiki or therapeutic touch, without being a better healing system.  For these reasons, along with the fear based content, I can not reccomend it.

Meditation Based Practice

LeShan Healing

LeShan Healing is based on the practioner using meditation to enter an altered state of awareness.  Most of the Meditation is derived from Buddhist practice.

Chanelled Healing Practices

Pan Gu Shen Gong

There are many types or styles of Qigong.  Pan Gu Shen Gong is mostly for self healing and enlightenment.  It is also used to heal others.

Pan Gu Shen Gong is a "channeled system."  It's source is PanGu.

Mahikari is a religious movement based in Japan.  The healing can not be seperated from the religion.  This is not about technique.  I was an active member of Mahikari for three years.  It's an excellent spiritual path.  I just couldn't live with it.
